You ask for respect from others when even yourself do not respect them, then how do you expect people to respect you? Paku dulang paku serpih, mengata orang dia yang lebih.
How could you compare people by their educational background?? so arrogant of you. and ask people to respect you just because you are older than them. that is not how you teach manners to the young generations. through showing kindness and good attitude, simply you can educate them about manners. no need all those tellings. you speak too much, you make mistakes much more. say when it is necessary otherwise remain silence. Beware of words, they may harm you. terlajak perahu boleh diundur, terlajak kata buruk padahnya.
One more thing, just because they are younger then you and less education background than you don't assume they are stupid and you are clever than them. give them chance to speak their mind and hear them out. maybe their opinions are far much better than yours.
So be nice to everyone. Small gestures can go a long way B-)
