my winter vacation III

Day 4:: We went to Galway and had a one day bus trip around the west part of the Ireland.

Healy :: the bus we rode on our trip to west of ireland

::The Burren::
A place at the countryside.

 The burren is well known for its limestone.

::The Aillwee cave::
Nothing much about the cave but from the story of our cave guider, this cave was accidentally discovered by Jack McGann in 1940 when his dog chases a butterfly (i think, can't really remember) into the cave and he chases after his dog to rescue him.

A spot that was believed to be the place where
bear has been hibernating during the cold season.

It was quite dark in there with some dim lights along the way but with lights gone, the cave was totally black dark that you can't even tell your way out. And the temperature in the cave has never change. it has always been 10 degree despite of any weather changes outside. #subhanallah. And because of that, it might just be the reason why bears make caves as their place to hibernate during winter.

After the cave, we then stopped by some places before heading towards our main interest that day which is the Cliff of Moher.

First stop, the church but seriously i don't know the name of the church, just a picture would do :)

::The Poulnabrone Portal Tomb::
This is one of the oldest memorials to human history in the burren.

And an old castle...

It was a beautiful day that day, the weather was fine, lucky us. Alhamdulillah :)

::The Cliff of Moher::
Subhanallah, it's a wonderful place, one of the seven wonders of the world (a friend told me). But with wild wind on top of the high cliff don't ever try to be a stuntman. if you jump/fell from the cliff, definitely you won't go home alive. For safety, better be near the ground and away from the edge of the cliff. it's dangerous!

After the cliff, we then made our way back to Galway city. We did stop for a while near the seaside to enjoy the breeze.

Our last destination that day was another castle in the Burren.

::The Dunguaire Castle::

That was the end of our 4th day in Ireland. The next day, we went north to Belfast city. Belfast was quite far from Dublin. It took us about 3-4 hours by bus to reach Belfast. And because we had to return to Dublin on the same day, we had to leave early in the morning to make use of our time there. In Belfast, we only managed to visit the Belfast Zoo and afterwards spent our time shopping. But i didn't shop much there. not in the mood of doing shopping i guess. huhu.

What was interesting about the Belfast zoo is its placement on top of a hill. Since the zoo was situated high up the hill, we had to climb to reach the main entrance. And because of this too, we can view the Belfast city from the zoo. Very beautiful :)

Climbing the hill with hardship :P

Our first stop was the farm. since it's a farm, most of the animals are domestic animals easily found almost anywhere in the world. Hens, rabbits, cows, goats even pigs. but since for me the pig was quite ugly i hope not to put a picture of it here. huhu.

The next coming pictures, would be few animals that rarely seen. To put the whole zoo in here would be such a burden, so i will only pick few of them. Enjoy ;)

Sang Beruang Hitam.

The Giraffe.

The Ostrich.

 The Elephant brought from Thailand.

The Meerkat.
Tiny little creature that likes to stand still. cute thou.

The Javan Brown Langur.
Looks like Mr Stephan Chow the Monkey King. hehe

 Mr chimpanzee.
Chipanzee n gorilla looks really alike by the way.

Learn their facial expression and make friends with them.

The view from the top of the hill.

Enjoying the fresh air ^^

Miss Peacock.
Wondering around the zoo.

Some species of birds.
There was about hundreds of bird species in the zoo btw.

Penguins!

And the Sea lion.

The Barbary Lion.

And the Harimau Malaya,
kebanggan rakyat Malaysia. hehe.

The Malayan Sun Bear.
You stand quite well young guy. ehe

Think enough with the animals. if you would like to see more of them, do visit belfast zoo and enjoy it yourselves :)

Just before leaving, suddenly it rained heavily that we end up stuck at the zoo. Luckily there was a small coffee house at the hilltop. We bought ourselves hot choc and coffee to warm our body in the cold weather.

After the zoo visit, we did some shopping till 6pm and headed back to Dublin.
.

Shopping, shopping, shopping..!! B-)

The next day was our last day in Ireland. since our flight was in the morning, we didn't do anything much that day except for packing. At 11am, we boarded the airplane and wave goodbye to the land of Ireland. Although our stay in ireland was quite short but it was fun, exciting, interesting and enjoying! hope one day i could set foot in ireland once again, insyaAllah. =)
